API {dot} ART at Google Cultural Institute #Paris

This year, 35 French national museums including the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay and Musée Picasso are opening up their image databases for the first time. The museums, under the umbrella organisation Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais (RMN-GP) will be showcasing almost 200,000 works of art.

Convinced that data is a tremendously rich area for exploration, the RMN-GP is inviting artists, interaction designers, thinkers and developers to work with this raw material through an Application Programming Interface (API).

The first edition of API{dot}ART, a collaborative workshop for digital creation, will take place from 29-31st of May at the Google Cultural Institute. The event will conclude with a presentation of the most outstanding pieces at the Grand Palais on the 3rd of June.
